BRIGHTON SCENES MURAL

After my appearance on ITV for the South East water commission I was delighted to get an enquiry about a private commission for a couple who live in Brighton.

THE COMMISSION

Claire and Gary are such a cute couple and also enthusiasts of all things Brighton, so I wanted to combine some of the most famous landmarks including the Royal Pavilion, the Palace Pier and also a bus which I decided to customise with a film advert based upon when Harry met Sally. The bus itself had to be a specific one which travelled to the area that they live in Patcham so it was a 5B bus and it had to be a specific year and model. I love to introduce personal elements into my clients murals because it makes it truly unique and also sentimental.

WATERCOLOUR STYLE

You will see from the videos and the photos in the section that I developed a new kind of style to represent the Palace Pier. This was almost a watercolour effect created using water down enamel paints and spray paint and I hope you will agree that the finished result is truly stunning.

THE PAVILION

I decided to use imagery of the pavilion from when it was lit up a few years ago and had amazing projections on it because I really love the colours and it gives it an otherworldly look so this helped create this beautiful watercolour background effect of the two major landmarks with a bus driving past. This is one of those murals where we had quite a lot of elements to fit in but I think we smashed it!
