REAL STREET ARTS PROJECT

I was commissioned by South Downland Scheme (SDS) , to become part of a collective of practitioners to offer REAL STREET ARTS to local youth of the Steyning area . This part of the world is exceptionally beautiful with many protected species in xxx acres of unspoilt downland. 2021

TESTIMONIAL

β€œWe had a fantastic time with Sarah, creating a series of 'street art nature murals’ on our nature reserve. She proved to be adaptable to our ever changing programme, professional and above all, excellent at working with a group of young people she hadn’t met before, carrying just the right balance of fun and confident leadership. I’d have no hesitation in recommending her for similar projects in future”

- MATTHEW THOMAS - PROJECT MANAGER AT SDS

SEE WHAT THE YOUNG PEOPLE CREATED

Take a look below at the process of how the young people created this amazing mural inspired by the surrounding wildlife. Below is a grasshopper being painted very carefully onto the wall!

BRINGING NATURE BACK

As part of this workshop, the young people gathered photos from the environment surrounding the old firing range (which is where the murals are painted). The project aimed to encourage those who use the space to respect it, reduce litter & make it into a place where people can enjoy, chill out and improve mental health.

To create art inspired by nature allows people to fully immerse themselves and closely observe in a way that we wouldn’t normally do, thus creating a more caring relationship with it.
