CHILDREN’S GARDEN

THE COMMISSION

I painted a very big mural featuring Harvest mice at Wahbrooks Farm Hurstpierpoint, and this family fell in love with the cute wildlife depicted and got in touch to see if I was interested in creating something similar in their garden. So I was delighted to be commissioned to create something for their little boy Tommy, who especially loved snails. I quickly got to work with some elements which reflected the local space and countryside, but also wanted to bring a splash of colour into the design so that even in wintertime it feels like nature is blooming.

THE IDEA

The whole idea was to create an immersive mural for Tommy to have a backdrop to his play area, which included a small playhouse and a swing area as well as blending into the parents planting scheme. So the mural was to bridge between the child and adult area. The client was very happy and as you can see from the photos, Tommy approved!
